A Senate committee meeting was momentatily interrupted today when the ancient Greek philosopher Diogenes entered the room.

Open Government

Diogenes, dressed in a scragly robe and sporting an unkempt long white beard, also carried a lantern. He told lawmakers he was “looking for an honest politician.”™”™

The senators refused his request to ask questions, told him to be careful with the open flame he carried, and were relieved when he walked out.

Inside the Diogenes costume was comedian Randy Credico, who roamed around the Capitol this morning in the outfit of Diogenes, known in ancient time for his quest for “an honest man”™”™ who made a virtue out of his poverty.
