Update, November 13, 2011:

Last weekend we were the only bank in the world to pop up at Occupy. Because money itself isn’t wrong or right. It basically is nothing, just a means for communication and exchange, but somehow people want to amass that ‘nothing’ and hoard it on their virtual bank accounts. A project which questions the value(s) of Art and Money.

Last Sunday we brought the Exchanghibition Bank to the main hall in the Central Station, including our personal bankers in their specially designed suits and of course our own security, and gave the public the opportunity to exchange their Euros into bills of Zero or One Million.

In conjunction with my Guantanamo Brain exhibition, May 2-June 7, at Famous in Amsterdam (http://www.famous.nl), today a Bomb Bird has landed on a rooftop in the center (Nieuwmarkt) of Amsterdam: A new step in evolution where nature evolves trying to keep up with the human (arms) race.

Like many other species of birds this one should start migrating pretty soon and might land somewhere else on this planet in the near future. And watch out: this one is Fragile…

This art prank was submitted by Amsterdam artist Dadara:

Between Christmas and New Year’s Eve of 2006, I built a big pink tank, 8x8x3 metres, with four barrels on a rooftop in the centre of Amsterdam.

Everything was made prefab. I painted all the parts inside the building with a lot of friends during Christmas and then we dragged everything up the roof and assembled it as quickly as possible.

I didn’t tell anyone, but the impact was huge. After it was installed, I said I was going to blow it up with explosives. (more…)
